“To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.”  PSALMS 30:12 KJV

The other day during the Daytona 500 Nascar Race, a young guy named Trevor Bayne won the race. He is a Christian and he was not ashamed about telling everyone about it either !! A lot of times, especially in the sports world, when a Christian does something good their agents or managers or whoever, doesn’t want the media hearing all this stuff about religion. I have no clue why they think that way, but that is the way this cultural society is today. Christian’s are like a light on a mission, like Trevor was, to win a race and not hide from the reporters when he was going to give thanks to God for his safe journey. Just like in the bible, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16 KJV He said in the newspaper “How do I stay grounded in my faith, when I am so high on winning this race ? ”  He said, “It is to build a platform and let God use us on the platform that He is building-which might require me to become the best race car driver or to be the most marketable or most popular or whatever it is. I just want to stand on the platform that He is putting under me.” This was paraphrased in the bible as being careful attention to what you hear according to God’s word, the amount of knowledge that you will get from it, it will generously multiply. The point is that God’s truth, instead of being divinely hidden from man, it will be understood. The quote in the bible is, “And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.” Mark 4:24-25 KJV  So never be ashamed to shout out that you are a Christian. Let it be known to everyone just as Trevor did. As long as you have Jesus Christ in your life the candle will be lit and the light will be bright. Now is the time to let Jesus come into your life, because He died on the cross for the punishment we deserve, and then rose again so that we could be justified freely by His Grace through Faith in Him. Amen
