Thoughts on Today’s Verse…..
Ezekiel was called upon by God to go to Jerusalem and explain to Judah three things; (1) Judah must be judged for disobedience; (2) to encourage the remnant of Judah through prophecies of her glorious future restoration; (3) to emphasize the preeminence of God’s glory and character. The glory of God may well be viewed as the theme of this book. Mainly because Ezekiel ministry begins with a vision of God’s glory and emphasizes it throughout the book. Also God uses the expression “I AM” the LORD 75 times in the book of Ezekiel. In the verse above (16:62) God said in spite of the severity of His judgment on Israel, the Lord will not cast His people off forever, because He says, I will remember my covenant. The everlasting covenant mentioned here is the same as Jeremiah’s new covenant. It will be ratified for Israel at the time when it will know that “I AM” the LORD, which can take place only during the Millennium. As Ezekiel prophesied throughout the book, God’s promise came to life in Ezekiel vision. God said, “I will bring you into the land of Israel, and shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live.” Ezekiel 37:12,14 KJV Again, this is both a physical regathering to the land and a spiritual regathering to God Himself. The initial state of this prophecy for Israel may be fulfilled, but it can be only completely fulfilled when Christ returns to establish His kingdom. As I read through the book of God, there are prophets along with God and His Son, Jesus Christ, continually trying to bring the people closer to God and away from the wicked. So if you don’t know Jesus Christ in your heart today, now is the time to repent. As He is the one that put your sins on the cross and died to pay the penalty for your sins so you could have eternal life. Amen

Dear Heavenly Father, please help me never to fall back to my wicked ways and to always keep you O Lord in my heart. As long as I have You, I know I will have someone to call upon, You will be there for me when I need you, because you are my rock to lean on. Whenever I see “I AM” I will know it is You O Lord. Amen
